History of CBD, mechanisms of action and pharmacological effects. About breeding: a breeding programme focusing on strains with high THC content for recreational purposes and on the development of new CBD strains for the medical/recreational market. Conclusions: let us talk about the entourage effect of cannabinoids and terpenes, as well as the different strains with their corresponding effects (chemotype-based breeding programmes).

The cannabis plant is known mainly for its potent flowers, which can be smoked, but it is also proving to be a versatile source of nutrition. For this year’s World Cannabis Conferences, the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum is organising a cookery demonstration in which the museum’s manager, Ana Rodríguez, and the chef Xavi Petit set the table for a contemporary dinner full of hemp.

In just a few years, the United States has gone from leading the war on drugs to championing the cannabis industry internationally. During the round table we will discuss the current situation in the country and the pros and cons of its regulatory process.

This round table sets out some of the main regulatory perspectives found in our country. In view of the paradigm shift at international level, the question is obvious: what will regulation in Spain be like? Will it respect the rights of individuals and collectives?

This session highlights the value of the information and communication offered by cannabis channels, featuring the best-known YouTubers and specialist audiovisual media. We will discuss freedom and censorship 2.0, as well as new ways of communicating about the plant and the present and future challenges facing professionals in this sector.

ICEERS is a non-profit organisation dedicated to transforming the relationship between society and psychoactive plants. We seek to achieve this by influencing the most sensitive debates on the globalisation of cannabis, ayahuasca, iboga and other ethnobotanical plants.

The CANNABMED project has arisen at the intersection of science, politics and education. In this presentation we will share the main results from each of the fronts that seek to open a breach in prohibitionist policies.

Particularly in recent years, the different cannabinoids contained in the cannabis plant have come to the fore in scientific research and therapeutic practice. In this session we will look at how the importance of quantifying these cannabinoids takes shape in practice and how they interact with our bodies.

“Diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma in 2011, I have undergone thoracic surgery and multiple treatments with conventional chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as second-line treatments, after relapse, with intravenous and oral chemotherapy (currently). As a cannabis user, in this talk I will address the benefits of its use as a palliative for the main adverse effects of the extremely aggressive treatments for the disease.”

Within the legislative situation that cannabis is experiencing in Spain, there is one group that is particularly disadvantaged: medical users. This session will discuss the political, scientific and administrative challenges facing medical cannabis in our country, as well as personal and professional experiences in this regard.
