Between 1970 and 2018, around 800 scientific studies on cannabis and cancer were published. In the last three years (2019–2022) the figure rose to more than 900. The study of the applications of cannabis and cannabinoids as antitumour agents is a flourishing field in which new developments emerge every few months. In this talk we will review the most significant of them.

The book Stay Stoned, by Samuele Salvadori “Sem Boy” and Gilberto Cannarozzi, like the exhibition, is a compilation of cannabis flash tattoos by contemporary tattoo artists who explore and celebrate their experiences with cannabis.

The Confederation of Cannabis Associations (Confederación de Asociaciones Cannábicas, ConFAC) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation. For more than twenty years it has championed the initiative of Cannabis Social Clubs (CSCs) as an alternative means of access to cannabis for millions of users.

This talk deals with the political work carried out during the last legislative term to regulate cannabis, and presents the confederation's new project: “Re-Evolution of Cannabis Social Clubs, a proposal for the future from the roots”.

The regulation of the different uses of this plant and of the industry is developing at a dizzying pace. In this round table, Kenzi Riboulet-Zemouli will present an update on the global cannabis situation and Rubén Valenzuela will analyse cannabis regulation in Thailand, both with regard to the situation for consumers and the business opportunities the country offers.

The presentation will address the various aspects of defending the cannabis sector in the Spanish State, the work of the OECCC in defending users and home growers, the regulatory process opened by the Congress Subcommittee (Subcomisión del Congreso) and the current situation of the grow shop and seed bank sector. We will also assess the role of the Cannabis Industry Guild (Gremio de la Industria del Cannabis, GIC) which, together with the OECCC, has launched the MUSC Group to centralise the legal defence of the sector.

In California, small farms and businesses are currently being eliminated by the legalised commercial cannabis regime. Breeders and nurseries are working to adapt to a changing market while fighting new biological threats such as hop latent viroid.

With Mario Guzman as our guide, we will learn about the whole process he has carried out, encompassing the creation of genetics, the building of a brand and commercial operations, as well as his global view of the current market.

Interest in psychedelics, in both popular culture and the world of science, is unstoppable. The talk will review their parallels with cannabis culture and science.

CBD seems to be able to reduce the effects of THC, but is that true? In this talk we will examine the scientific evidence on this subject.

A year and a half has passed since four comprehensive regulation bills were registered in the Spanish Parliament (Cortes), but this has brought about no change for users or for the sector. In this round table we will analyse why no further progress has been made. We will also discuss the possibility of making cannabis regulation a condition for the formation of a government in the next legislative term.

The CSC model emerged in the Spanish State twenty years ago and has since spread throughout Europe and beyond. In this round table we will examine the health of a model that, while struggling to survive in its place of origin, is taking firm root in other neighbouring countries.
